Burton Sweet offer services for individuals, executors and trustees that encompass both planning for the future, as well as dealing with current estate situations, after a bereavement.

We understand that trusts and estates matters are particularly sensitive and can make difficult times feel even more complex. Our compassionate team are proud to provide a service that takes away that concern, whilst helping you maximise the reliefs and gifts available.

Alongside this, we can assist you in planning for the future and auditing your assets, to ensure the management of your estate is a straight-forward as possible. Our experienced accountants will, ensure your estate is in safe hands.

Trusts

Our team of experts can explain to you and work with legal advisers as necessary to set up and assist with the administrative issues of a trust.

These can be vital planning tools to ring-fence your assets. Trusts are often used to ensure property cannot be owned until the beneficiary has reached a certain age, or to pass assets to future generations with control over the disposition of the asset/spending of any income from that asset remaining with advisers or other family members.

Estate planning

We understand that it is never easy to talk about your passing on. However, planning for that eventuality and ordering your affairs accordingly is important to avoid unnecessary tax liability and later uncertainty – or dispute.

We work with individuals and families to review assets and discuss your plans for these, as well as the liabilities that may arise from your wishes.

Looking at maximising available reliefs to reduce the liability to inheritance tax is key, as well as practical matters concerning liquidity within an estate and location of key documents. We will liaise with other advisers or recommend some contacts as necessary to ensure that you are able to get your affairs in order and remove this worry for you and your loved ones.
